About the Baume & Mercier Brand
The Baume &  Mercier brand developed in 1830 when the two Baume brothers, Louis Victor and Celestin, opened a watch store in Les Bois. Their company quickly developed and earned a strong reputation due to their exceptional models and cutting-edge innovations. The Baume brothers made an exclusive promise to their customers that they would only accept perfection and solely manufacture watches of the highest quality. This loyalty allowed their company and brand to grow exponentially over future generations gaining international recognition and becoming the seventh oldest Swiss watch making brand.  Due to the growing demand of the Baume brand, the Baume family opened a branch in London in the early 1920’s. Just prior to this expansion the Baume family partnered with Paul Mercier to eventually develop the Baume & Mercier brand that is has become today. Baume & Mercier began developing unconventional “shaped” wrist watches that were distinguished against the traditional round form. Their uniqueness and reliability allowed Baume & Mercier to become a highly sought after brand and awarded brand. During the 1940’s Baume & Mercier launched a number of notable watch collections of today, such as the Hampton, Capeland, and Classima models.
